Years after the beloved tradition of the turkey drop the event was revisited with a fresh and exciting twist by 95.7 Classic Rock, bringing new life to this fond story from radio History, Instead of the typical turkey drop, the station orchestrated a thrilling ping-pong drop, where thousands of Stickered ping-pong balls were released from a height, each representing a chance to win a delicious Thanksgiving turkey.

The lively event drew crowds from Banning and the surrounding areas, as families gathered to enjoy live music, local vendors  and festive activities while eagerly waiting for the ping-pong balls to cascade down. As each ball landed and was retrieved, the excitement built, and the community buzzed with joy at the opportunity to bring home a turkey for their holiday feast. This innovative approach not only honored the spirit of giving but also strengthened community bonds, making it a memorable occasion for all who attended.

Host Rick Ruhl

“The first X 95.7 turkey drop was a major success, with the mayor and the state representatives office in attendance we were able to give away turkeys to families in need and have a fun time with all of them. This is the first of many events, the radio station will have, and for sure we’re going to repeat it next year. I appreciate all the sponsors and vendors and the Morongo band of Mission Indians for their support.”
