The Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley (HSSBV) celebrated 50 years of service to animals with their Golden Paws Gala presented by San Manuel Band of Mission Indians at The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel San Bernardino on Saturday, September 25th. Over $81,000 was raised for the HSSBV programs and services to animals and the community, including their low cost veterinary clinic, humane education program and animal cruelty investigation program.
The event as emceed by Tony Shin, NBC4 Inland Empire Bureau Chief. Jeff Pope from The Jeff Pope show on Hot 103.9 handled the live auction which included a trip to Disneyland, an Eastern Sierra vacation package and a VIP tour of Garner Holt Productions. Additional funds were raised through raffles and a matching donation program. Guests enjoyed dinner, dancing and caricatures, as well as a visit and "paw"tographs from Lucky, one of the pets rescued in a HSSBV Humane Officer cruelty case.
In addition to celebrating HSSBV founders and history, Lynn Hildebrand, HSSBV humane education specialist, was recognized for her 30 years of work!
