Metrolink Helps Travelers Avoid Thanksgiving Gridlock and Save Money with $10 Holiday Pass

In anticipation of the busiest travel week of the year, Metrolink, Southern California’s regional passenger rail service, will offer a $10 Holiday Pass this Thanksgiving to help travelers avoid freeway gridlock and save money.

On both Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, and Black Friday, Nov. 25, riders may use the $10 Holiday Pass to take unlimited trips anywhere Metrolink travels for the entire day on which the pass is purchased. Visit metrolinktrains.com/holidaytickets for details on the $10 Holiday Pass.

The holiday fare also applies to Metrolink’s new Arrow service in San Bernardino and Redlands that launched on Oct. 24.

On Thanksgiving Day and the following day, Metrolink and Arrow trains will operate according to the Saturday schedule. Metrolink’s Ventura County, Antelope Valley, San Bernardino, Orange County, 91/Perris Valley, and Inland Empire-Orange County lines will have service. Metrolink trains will not operate on the Riverside Line on Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, or over the weekend.

The Rail 2 Rail® program, which normally allows Metrolink Monthly Pass holders to use their pass on Amtrak Pacific Surfliner along the Ventura County and Orange County lines, will be suspended from Wednesday, Nov. 23 to Monday, Nov. 28. Regular Rail 2 Rail service will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

This blackout period does not affect Metrolink shared service with Pacific Surfliner trains 761, 770, 777 and 784 along the Ventura County Line. On these four trains, Metrolink’s $10 Holiday Pass will be honored on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.

Riders are encouraged to check train schedules when planning holiday travel and should note that Amtrak policies apply on all Pacific Surfliner trains.
