Recipients Of ACSA Region 12 Awards Honored

The Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) will honor its Region 12 award recipients, which represents all of San Bernardino County, at its Spring Celebration Banquet in April.

Among the honorees are three representatives of the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. They are:

  • David Thurston, Technology Services;
  • Kim Cavanagh, Curriculum/Instruction and Academic Enrichment;
  • George Bowser, Continuation/Education Options principal.

'"We are excited about the honorees, who represent County Schools, as well as the recipients who will represent the other districts throughout San Bernardino County," County Superintendent Ted Alejandre said. "Our Region 12 recipients will have the opportunity to compete at the state level for additional recognition. I look forward to congratulating all of this year's Region 12 honorees at our awards ceremony in April."

Other recipients from the county school districts to be honored at the Region 12 Spring Celebration include:

  • Cuauhtémoc Avila, superintendent, Rialto Unified School District;
  • Elizabeth Bartholomew, student services administrator, Adelanto;
  • Kimberly Cabrera, secondary principal, and Trevor Carenzo, elementary administrator, Chino Valley Unified;
  • Kim Hall, middle grades principal; Shannon Miller, central office administrator; Roberto Santiago, secondary administrator; and Tracey Vackar, career technical education administrator, Fontana Unified;
  • Todd Hagg, adult education administrator, and Michael Harrison, classified educational administrator, Chaffey Joint Union;
  • Margaret Hill, retired administrator, and Tasha Lindsay-Doizan, curriculum/instruction administrator, San Bernardino City Unified;
  • Kathlene Miller, elementary principal, Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified;
  • Ingrid Munsterman, human resources administrator, Colton Joint Unified;
  • Anthony Ortiz, special education administrator, Ontario-Montclair.

In addition, the Studio Movie Grill in Redlands will be presented with the Partners in Educational Excellence Award for its work with Redlands Unified. Joaquin Enriquez of Upland Unified will be honored with the Every Student Succeeding Award. Lucia Hudec of Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified will receive the Wilson Grace Award. Mary Langer Thompson of Adelanto will receive the Robert E. Kelly Award. Nicole Webb of Oro Grande will be honored with the Valuing Diversity Award.   

This year's honorees will be recognized at the ACSA Region 12 Spring Celebration on April 13 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Ontario.
