Long hours put in by San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters staff paid off in a smooth and successful presidential primary election on Tuesday.

According to the most recent update, 160,881 of the county’s 1,166,305 registered voters participated in the March 5 election – 123,298 voting by mail and 37,583 voting in-person at polling places.

On the ballot were candidates for president running in six party primaries as well as candidates for U.S. Senate, House of Representatives, state Senate, state Assembly, Board of Supervisors, Superior Court judge, city councils, and party central committees. Five state and local measures were also on the ballot.

All verified polling place ballots and mail ballots that arrived in time to be processed on or before Election Day have been counted. An estimated 123,975 mail, provisional, and other ballots requiring review remain to be processed. That number will grow as ballots mailed on and before Election Day arrive at the registrar’s office via U.S. mail.

Updated results will be posted daily until all ballots are counted.
