San Bernardino County welcomed a new class of SPARK Youth Employment Program
participants this week, marking the initiative’s second year of introducing youth and
young adults to county career pathways.

Earlier this week, San Bernardino County kicked off the SPARK Youth Employment Program, giving young adults the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience, explore career pathways and learn more about public service.

Participants took part in new employee orientation on Monday, giving them the same introduction to county service as new county employees. The six-week program will run through July 24.

SPARK is designed to help participants build workplace skills, develop professional confidence and better understand the wide range of career opportunities available in local government. Departments hosting SPARK participants will play an important role in mentoring young adults and introducing them to the work county employees do to serve the community.

Throughout the program, participating county departments will share highlights from their SPARK participants, showcasing their experiences, what they are learning and the work they are supporting.

Be on the lookout for SPARK content from participating departments, Human Resources, and San Bernardino County social media channels.
