Support For Our Los Angeles County Neighbors

On many unfortunate occasions, the people of San Bernardino County have suffered the terror and loss of widespread disaster. In times of wildfire, earthquake, flood, terrorist attack, and blizzard, San Bernardino County has stood strong, but always with the support of our neighbors near and far.

During the current high-wind event, thousands of our residents remain without electrical service and many properties have endured damage from strong gusts. However, this time, San Bernardino County has so far been spared the worst. Not so for our Southern California brothers and sisters in Los Angeles County.

As of this writing, 10 lives have been lost and more than 9,000 structures have been damaged or destroyed by several wind-driven wildfires to our west, with the grim toll expected to rise.

In our times of need, San Bernardino County has felt comfort from those on the other sides of our county line. Today, San Bernardino County stands with Los Angeles County and sends our thoughts and prayers to those who have suffered fear and loss.

San Bernardino County firefighting resources are on the front lines in Los Angeles County, but there are ways all of us can support those in need. Los Angeles County emergency response and recovery officials are urging donations to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund, https://www.calfund.org/.

San Bernardino County also stands with our residents who are coping with the high winds and loss of power. Safety and resource information is available at San Bernardino County’s Extreme Wind Event website, https://oes.sbcounty.gov/extreme-wind-event/.

The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors and the County Government Team is here to support our residents and our neighbors. sbcounty.gov
