San Bernardino police with the help of forces from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and the FBI took four suspected gang members into custody after a multi-agency operation throughout San Bernardino early Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Law enforcement officials with search warrants searched six separate locations including residents known to house individual members of a criminal street gang known as Sur Crazy Ones (SUR) and took four into custody: Jaime Castrellon, 24; Richard Ortega, 23; Javier Palomino, 30; and Ithzel Lopez, 29. The warrants were served as the San Bernardino Police Department aims to take action to curtail criminal street gang activity in the city, according to a release.
Police also seized several weapons, including a Mack 11 with an extended magazine, a .40 carbine rifle, and a 9mm pistol. One pound of marijuana and a flack jacket were also recovered in the efforts, Lt. R. Lawhead, a spokesperson with the San Bernardino City Police, confirmed.
All four gang suspects are booked in the West Valley Detention Center.
